Description

1937 Boat Tail Speedster 866 Glenn Pray History 1 of only 80 produced and only a few remain.

Brand new 460 Motor with only 656 miles on it at a cost of $16,000

This is an ā€œEarlyā€ car and was a complete nut and bolt restoration completed in 2013. The Ford engine and Top Loader 4 speed were completely rebuilt. The new Conneault leather interior is stitched to the original Auburn Patterns.  Many of the component parts such as bumpers, dashboard, hubcaps and trim pieces which were sourced in 1970 come from Auburn Automobile company and are NOS parts from original stock bins and have been rechromed and refinished.

Third owner car custom made for Bill Driest – Black exterior (Two stage pain with multi sanding) with Olde English Blackberry Leather interior and NOS Brigthwork form 1936 with rechroming and many original NOW parts such as the Correct Siren and Onyx Shifter .

Given the work done and how few of these remain this is likely the finest example of the 80 that were built.

Replica, not original: These cars were not made in 1937, but are replicas built by Glenn Pray, who purchased the rights and parts to the original Auburn, Cord, and Duesenberg Company.
